Data Collection Technician

Job Description
A-TECH Engineering is seeking multiple candidates in the Southern and Central NJ areas to perform traffic data collection services beginning in June, 2008.
Duties:
Traffic Data Collection Technicians will be required to perform the following primary functions:
- Place and remove pneumatic hose counters in the roadway following standard safety practices
- Conduct manual vehicle and pedestrian counts using electronic counter equipment
- Conduct travel time evaluations using a vehicle and computer equipment
- Survey site conditions, and complete a site inventory form detailing roadway geometry, traffic signal layout, speed limits and other information
- Coordinate with the data collection manager for the download and exchange of data collection equipment
Requirements: High school graduate with 3 years of technical experience.
- Work days will generally be
Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm, not including travel time to and from the site. Data collection will not be conducted during holiday periods, or during rain and snow events.
- Some evening work may be
required depending on site location(s).
- Must have your own means of transportation for use to travel to and from the site, and to sit in during manual count collection (mileage reimbursable).
- Must be punctual and dependable.

Duties include the transfer of information from engineers or designer drawings and engineering calculations to final construction document drawings. Apply finished quality, appropriate symbols and drafting standards. Assist in ensuring that drawings are in accordance with accepted drafting standards and procedures. Plan, layout, draft, and revise simple drawings and other detailed graphic presentations from sketches, notes, and other criteria.

Key responsibilities include stormwater permit review for land development projects in Philadelphia. Insure compliance with Philadelphia Water Department and PADEP Stormwater Regulations. Capabilities should include municipal experience with stormwater management and collection systems, geotechnical reports, hydraulic modeling, and report preparation experience. Experience in
HydroCAD, MS Access, and GIS would be beneficial.
